Job Opportunities Available with Branford Public Works

The following information is a press release from the Town of Branford.

The Town of Branford is currently recruiting for the position of temporary truck driver/laborer positions with the Department of Public Works.

The salary range is $21.99 per hour, and the positions will be a 40-hour work week for a period of 90 days. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 13.

Essential Functions

Performs all necessary work to maintain the Town road system in good condition.  Cut, clean up and dispose of windstorm debris and roadside trash and delivers to Transfer Station. Plow snow, sand and salt highways as required by storm conditions. Operate wood chipper. Replace traffic signs. May be required to paint interior walls and trim.

Qualification Requirements 

High School graduate or GED equivalent. Four years of experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must maintain a valid CDL State of Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operators license, Class B.
 
Selection Process

Formal application, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; job related tests may be required.
