Job Alerts: Town of Branford Seeks Animal Control Program Coordinators, Seasonal Camp Counselors

The Town of Branford is currently looking to hire seasonal camp counselors and part-time assistant animal control program coordinators.

Part Time Assistant Animal /Control Program Coordinators
Animal Shelter; Branford, CT
Two positions open
Salary:  $10.50 hour
19.5 hours a week
Date of Notice: 5/7/2013
 
Essential Function: Animal Control Functions such as investigations, record keeping, report writing, assist the public, answer phones, clean kennels, feeding and walking dogs, clean cat room, help with fund raisers and other tasks as needed. Two shifts Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Qualification RequirementsCandidate must have excellent communication skills, animal handling skills and knowledge of their behavior and should possess a high school diploma or GED. (Associates or higher degree preferred) and a Valid CT driver’s license.  Must be able to work holidays.   Proficient in computer skills including word, excel, and power point. 

Selection ProcessThe Town of Branford reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be considered for the position.
 
The files of all qualified candidates will be maintained for a minimum of six months from the announcement date, and the qualified candidates will be considered for the same or similar positions which may become available during this timeframe.
 
All candidates must successfully pass a post-offer medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test given at the Town's expense.
 
The Town of Branford conducts background investigations for all positions prior to hiring.  Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate from further consideration.

Seasonal Camp Counselor– Animal Shelter Branford, CT

 
Salary:  $10.00 hour
40 hours a week for two weeks
August 12 to the 16 and August 19 to the 23
Date of Notice: 6/7/2013
 
Essential Functions: Two positions available.  Knowledge and experience with teaching, nature and animal handling skills.
 
Qualification RequirementsExperience in animal handling   Ability to handle stressful situations. Computer skills in word, excel and power-point.
 
Selection Process100 percent Training and Experience Assessment
