IKEA Goes Solar

The store's new solar energy system is the largest in the state.

On Thursday, Gov. Dannel Malloy joined executives of IKEA in New Haven at a ceremony launching the store’s new solar energy system, which is the largest in the state.

The system is 118,000 square feet and consists of 3,920 panels that will reduce carbon dioxide by 836 tons, the equivalent of powering 95 homes for a year.
