Following what their Facebook page describes as sour lease negotiations, owners of have closed their doors and begun moving out of their storefront at 1008 Main Street. On the company's Facebook page, owner Christine Cohen described it as a "last-minute shock."
"Not looking good folks," wrote Cohen on the page. "Please come and visit us on our last day in Branford, tomorrow! We'll be saying our goodbyes after 5 awesome years! New chapter for Cohen's."
Cohen says it will likely take more than a day to move much of the equipment out of the location -- she and her husband Rob will have to hire a truck for some of the heavier equipment. But the shop has sold its last batch of bagels in Branford.
Cohen's still maintains another location in Madison.
