Branford, Home of Apple Brandy?

Yes, you read that correctly: Tai Pham Lam will be making Apple Brandy here in Branford.

Bill Clark, Senior Vice President of the Geenty Group confirmed that he has leased the space at 11 Sycamore Way to an apple brandy manufacturer. The 768-square-foot space, managed by Gray Eagle Corp., was last leased by a construction company reported Clark.

It took the apple brandy manufacturer, Tai Phan Lam, a while to get the space approved, said Clark. Approval to open a distillery required local, state and federal approval said Clark.

Lam’s lease has been signed, said Clark, and the distillery should be set to go, though no activity was noticed when Patch stopped by 11 Sycamore, yesterday. We will provide an update if we interview Lam.

We do not yet have the details about where the brandy will be sold or distributed.

The apple brandy manufacturer will share the building with other tenants, said Clark – including Merry Maids on one side and a glass blower, West Rock Art Glass on the other.
