Book Launch Party at SBC Brewery

Branford resident Leesan Villa celebrates publication of her first book

Join Leesan Villa at SBC Brewery on Saturday, September 24, 8 – 10 p.m. to celebrate publication of her book The Angel on Top of the Tree. The cost is $25, which includes a cocktail, hors d’oeuvres, and an autographed copy of the book.

Branford Patch recently met with Villa to talk about her exciting new venture.

Branford Patch: What kind of book is The Angel on Top of the Tree?

Leesan Villa: It is a 64-page picture book with oil painted illustrations by illustrator Barbara Haeger. It is a book for people of all ages.

Branford Patch: What is the book about?

Villa: It’s about a Christmas tree topper that comes to life and about the true meaning of Christmas: having your family, being together and spending time with your family.

Branford Patch: What inspired you to write this story?

Villa: Years ago, my dog had opened up only his Christmas presents while my husband and I were out celebrating Christmas Eve with my family. When we came home and saw what had happened I made a joke to my little brother and sister that the reason why he opened only his presents was because the angel on top of the tree stopped him! This story has been on my mind for many years.

Branford Patch: Who is the publisher?

Villa: The Blue Ring, a company I have started to “celebrate family memories.”

Branford Patch: How much does the book cost and how can Patch readers buy it?

Villa: The Angel on Top of the Tree costs $19.95 and will be marketed online. Readers can contact me at leesan_villa@yahoo.com to buy a copy. The Knights of Columbus will also be selling the books as a fundraiser at .

Branford Patch: Most book launches take place at a book store. What made you decide to hold it at SBC Brewery?

Villa: I wanted to have a real fun, party time environment. I want The Angel on Top of the Tree to make a splash!

Branford Patch wishes this busy mother of four all the best with her new book!

rather harsh and does not mention Congress or that fact that any CEO expects their chain of commandRead More to do the job assigned. The events of the last few years, the endless wars, homeland terrorism etc. Not an easy time for any Commander -in Chief. When an article simply slams and does not balance with positive accomplishments, it is hard to see the readers point of view
