2013 Marketing Trends from a Local Pro

Branford Patch gets an exclusive look at Shannon Beth's Marketing Trends & Predictions for 2013.

2013 is guaranteed to be full of exciting changes and business opportunities. Local marketing designer Shannon Beth Engravlle of SB Cre8tive is making a presentation to the Sound Networking Group this week on all of the changes to be aware of in the business marketing landscape for the coming year.

Although the seminar is a member-only event (Want to become a member of the local networking group? See our coverage of the group here), Shannon Beth unveiled some of her design secrets for our Patch community!

Shannon says the biggest thing to remember in the New Year is it's time to “focus on getting down to earth in a more human, user-friendly way.”

Here are her Top 5 Trends of the New Year:

1) COUTURE VISUALS

Responsive design allows websites to adapt to their environment automatically, providing you with the optimal viewing, navigation & purchase experience on every device. Finally, it’s all about you!

2) LARGER FONTS & HUGE BUTTONS

Not just for boomers, when 18px font is displayed on an iPhone, it's much easier to read than the standard 12pt font. Large ‘touch & tap’ buttons are also expected to be a necessity in 2013.

3) SEEING GREEN

The 2013 Pantone color of the year is Emerald — lively, radiant, classic and lush. Other color trends include Lemon Zest & Poppy Red.

4) GOOD TIMES….

Making photos look old, vintage and antique is all the sharing rage. Social Media outlets like Instagram and Pinterest have us reminiscing literally seconds later.

5) SHARE & BE REWARDED

Be on the lookout for instant discounts from your favorite restaurants and retailers just for live social media sharing about your experience.

Shannon lives and works by her motto: “Marketing is how we promote, design is how we cre8te.”

Make sure you and your business are staying ahead of the design curve this year!
