One Small Shop, a Holiday Tradition and the Proposal

If you were at the Holiday Parade last Saturday, you may have witnessed a little more excitement than you expected. Let me set the scene for you all: it was 5 o’clock and the sun was setting, just over 30 degrees outside and about fifty cars, trucks and wagons geared up to march in the annual Branford Holiday Parade. Polished Boutique was featured in nothing less than the biggest orange mac truck I have ever seen dressed in purple from top to bottom. With the bright purple strobe lights it was hard to miss our float squeezed right in between the top notch vintage car gang and Duck Dynasty’s finest. Store owner, Lisa, spokes model Fantasia, and I all sported Polished Boutique’s new pea coats in purple and black! Tying our soft coats tightly and squeezing our hand warmers, Team Polished was ready to beat the cold on top of our brightly decorated float and hand out candy canes while looking holiday chic.

Pulling in front of Polished Boutique, I had the perfect view of a flawlessly executed plan falling into place. Lisa stood speechless as her shop, with an enormous crowd out front, and the sign reading “Lisa, Will You Marry Me?”  in huge letters came into view. Fiancé-to-be, kneeled on one knee pausing a parade and going down in history as the most romantic proposal this girl could imagine! What a way to represent what "Small Business Saturday" is all about.
