The Race Is On

The Pinewood Derby Race for Cub Scout Pack 428.

This past Saturday, Retirement Home hosted the Cub Scouts Pack 428 annual Pinewood Derby race. The Scouts were given a raw piece of pine, wheels and axial to craft into there own unique race car to compete against one another on a wooden track erected in a banquet hall at the retirement home. Cars of all shapes, colors and designs raced down the track in heat after heat. The main focus of the event was to have fun and to show the creativity and skill the boys put into the construction of their cars. Awards were given to everyone from everything from design to most original. Many of the residents from the facility watch and cheered as the cars raced down the track. A wonderful time was had by all who attended. Here are some photos I took of the action. Enjoy.
