Meet the Director of Lady Pirates of the Caribbean: Jeffrey Rizzo

Jeffrey Rizzo, director of Lady Pirates of the Caribbean, lets you know what makes this production special.

Members of Francis Walsh Intermediate School's Musical Theater have been busy preparing for their production of Lady Pirates of the Caribbean and you have one more chance to see it with a performance on Saturday, April 6 at 3 p.m. (which follows the opening night performance on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m.).

Director Jeffrey Rizzo not only shares what makes this production special, but talks about the hard work that went into it, both on the stage and behind the scenes.

And if you missed it, Kendra Libby (Lucretia) and Alexa Bodner (Wilma) two 8th-graders, with big roles in the show talked about their experience, while classmates Jack Nelson (ensemble) and Andrew Salerno (Don Juan Futon) also took a break from rehearsal to tell us more about their roles and what is special about this show.

According to an announcement posted, the play is about "a spirited family-friendly musical about the adventures of the Lawless Lady pirates. A chest of gold doubloons sent by the Queen to care for orphaned children on Parrot Isle has been stolen. Will the Lawless Ladies be able to uncover who stole the gold?

Jeffrey Rizzo, a 7th-grade science teacher at Walsh, directs the play, which features Kirsten Bjork as Esmeralda, Kendra Libby as Lucretia and Andrew Salerno as Don Juan Futon.

Tickets ($10) are available by calling 203-418-PLAY.
