Well, we missed last week's, but did make it out to the Green last night, and thorougly enjoyed ourselves! Loved the performance by Nicole and her top notch group (that drummer in particular was something else!), not to mention the wonderful weather, and relaxed casual vibe of the Branford Green. Great job by Branford Parks & Rec. organizing the overall event, expert sound by Dennis Nardella, and on and on. Just a super evening--thanks for everyone who made it possible.

I'm pretty sure by his avatar that it was Victor Amatori was doing the announcements last night also--great job Victor! Your enthusiasm was infectious!

Steve D'Agostino puts on one heckuva show--hope to catch his reschedule date. Meanwhile, sounds like a prudent decision to cancel for tonite, given what the weatherman is saying...

Really enjoyed the Gene Bertoncini performance last night. That one one talented trio, who hit all the right notes. Their guest vocalist on several numbers was also quite good. Another "two thumbs up" night for Branford Jazz On The Green 2012!

Oh boy, Nicole, and all, I have to say that KJ Denhert gets my vote for BEST BRANFORD JAZZ FEST PERFORMER EVER! She is a showman of the highest level, obviously had a great time playing, oh, and she also ROCKED THE HOUSE! Wow, whatta show! Can't say enough about the great time we had last night!
BRAVO to Branford Parks and Rec for brinding KJ Denhert to Branford! Great sound, as usual, by Dennis Nardella, too! Last night was a night we will not soon forget! Thanks again to all who made it possible!

Belated props to Dr. Joe Cardinale, who has been a very visible presence at the weekly performances lately (announcing, taking pictures, etc.), who is a great musician in his own right. I was reminded of this by the very special cover feature in the Friday, August 10, 2012 issue of Shoreline Times, written by Robert C. Pollack. Dr. Joe's daughter Elise, of course was the wonderful guest vocalist with Gene Bertoncini a couple of weeks ago, and also sang with Dr. Joe's band in their Branford Jazz Festival performance from last year. In the article we also learned about his career as an oncologist, and the people he has positively touched in that area of his life. Keep up the good work Dr. Joe!
