Wings for Waiters Benefit on Feb. 27

Lenny's will hold a fundraiser for two of its waiters who lost their belongings in a housefire on Feb. 4.

On Feb. 4, two college-aged brothers awoke to smoke detectors going off and a fire in their South Montowese Street home. Luckily both escaped unharmed, but the same couldn't be said for their possessions.

The brothers have worked as waiters at Lenny's for at least the past five years and the restaurant's owners – Tom and Chris Conlin – wanted to do something to help their longtime staffers.

Wings for Waiters will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 4 to 9 p.m. Wings will be on special at 10 for $10 with all proceeds from the wings going toward rebuilding their home and replacing possessions. Raffle tickets will also be for sale throughout the event.

"They lost everything and their house sustained a great deal of damage," said Vanessa Conlin. "They're such good kids from such a nice family and we wanted to do something to help them."
