Severe Storms Expected This Afternoon

With plenty of heat and humidity over the region, a frontal disturbance pushing through Connecticut will give us a line of heavy storms this afternoon.

In addition to the severe storms expected today, it looks like some intense heat will make its way to Branford by midweek. We can see some low-90s by Thursday and with dewpoints climbing into the low- to mid-70s, conditions will become quite uncomfortable.

Monday: Mostly sunny in the morning, becoming increasingly cloudy towards the early afternoon hours. Hot and humid, with temperatures in the upper-80s. Storms are likely to develop towards the late afternoon. Some may be severe. Expect some gusty winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning, heavy rain and possibly small hail. Overnight lows in the upper-60s.

Tuesday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a slight chance for a lingering shower, particularly in the morning hours. Highs in the mid- to upper-80s. Overnight lows in the mid-60s.
