The 428 annual Pinewood Derby was held March 10 at the gym, 62 Cedar St., Branford.
The Pinewood Derby is a for cub scouts and the first derby in history was held in Manhattan Beach, CA on may 15, 1953.
Each scout was given a block of wood made of pine with two notches for wheels, four plastic tires and four nails. The finished car must utilize all nine pieces and must not exceed a weight of five ounces.
