Introducing James Boyle, Your Source For Branford Weather

Hello, Branford! My name is James Boyle and starting next week, I will be providing you with accurate and reliable weather forecasts. Before I start forecasting, I wanted to give you a little background about myself and my weathercasting experience.

Ever since I was eight years old, I knew I wanted to be a meteorologist–winter weather has always fascinated me. Growing up in New England really helped to spark my interest. I graduated from in 2005 and went on to receive my bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Western Connecticut State University.

While completing my bachelor’s degree, I was lucky enough to earn an internship with Dr. Mel at WTNH. I spent a summer learning and improving my forecasting skills from one of the greatest. In 2009, I finished up at WCSU and immediately went on to pursue my master’s degree from Plymouth State University. At Plymouth, I learned how to apply my meteorology skills in a more technical manner than before.

Learning and understanding radar and satellite imagery, as well as interpreting model data has helped me to become a better forecaster. In December 2010, I was awarded my master’s degree in applied meteorology. I came back to my hometown of Northford with a wealth of knowledge and an eagerness to provide people with an accurate and up-to-date weather forecast.

All of my Branford Patch forecasts will be handmade. I will use model data, real-time radar and satellite imagery, as well as a number of other tools and equipment used by the National Weather Service to give you a pinpoint forecast exclusive to the Branford area.

Living here in southern Connecticut and understanding the weather associated with this region has allowed me to recognize smaller local details that many of the other big weather providers sometimes miss. This means that you will get a more accurate and reliable forecast from me. Thank you, and I look forward to forecasting for the Branford Patch!
