Father Winter Arrives In Branford

After a relatively mild late fall, the winter weather finally makes its opening appearance this week here along the shoreline.

This week's weather has made one thing clear: Father Winter has arrived for the holiday season here along the shoreline.

The 3 to 5 inches of snow expected to fall throughout this morning and into the late afternoon has led to a the closure of the Branford School District.

The winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service for East Haven and much of the rest of the region will remain in effect until 5 p.m.

Precipitation is expected to taper off during the first part of tonight's evening rush hour.
