HCC Student’s Play to be Staged Nov. 1

Grandma's Alley, a play written and directed by Bridgeport resident and Housatonic Community College student Tammie V. Smith, will be staged Thursday, Nov. 1 at the college.

BRIDGEPORT ‑ Grandma’s Alley, a play written and directed by Bridgeport resident and Housatonic Community College student Tammie V. Smith, will be staged Thursday, Nov. 1 at the college. A tale of tests, trials and triumphs, the play focuses on three grandmothers who meet weekly to pray for their families and how their love, care, and concern help their families cope with issues that include domestic violence and mental, physical and verbal abuse. There will be performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center in Lafayette Hall at the college. The event is open to the public at no charge. Housatonic is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Bridgeport, less than 150 yards off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte. 8 (Exit 1), a block from the Harbor Yard sports complex. Free parking is available in the Housatonic garage.
