Robert Joseph McCarthy, 79

Bob passed away peacefully on August 24^th at Hospice in Cape Coral FL. He honorably served during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force and dedicated his life to law enforcement with the New Haven Police Department from 1957 to 1991 when he retired as Detective/Sargent. An avid golfer, he retired to Cape Coral FL. Bob was a memeber of the Elks Club of Branford and the Emerald Society of New Haven. Bob was preceded by his parents, the Late Francis Gerald and Ann Dolan McCarthy, his brother John McCarthy and his son Michael McCarthy. A service will be held to honor his life on September 8^th at Saint Mark Roman Catholic Church; 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford CT 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1952 Whitney Avenue #220, Hamden, CT 06517
