Robert Joseph McCarthy, 79

Bob passed away peacefully on August 24th at Hospice in Cape Coral FL. He honorably served during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force and dedicated his life to law enforcement with the New Haven Police Department from 1957 to 1991 when he retired as Detective/Sargent. An avid golfer, he retired to Cape Coral FL. Bob was a memeber of the Elks Club of Branford and the Emerald Society of New Haven. Bob was preceded by his parents, the Late Francis Gerald and Ann Dolan McCarthy, his brother John McCarthy and his son Michael McCarthy. A service will be held to honor his life on September 8th at Saint Mark Roman Catholic Church; 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford CT 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1952 Whitney Avenue #220, Hamden, CT 06517

rather harsh and does not mention Congress or that fact that any CEO expects their chain of commandRead More to do the job assigned. The events of the last few years, the endless wars, homeland terrorism etc. Not an easy time for any Commander -in Chief. When an article simply slams and does not balance with positive accomplishments, it is hard to see the readers point of view
