is currently recruiting for the position of: Operations Manager Wastewater Treatment Plant

Essential Functions: The purpose of this position is to prepare departmental budgets, assist the superintendent to administer, direct, coordinate, monitor and document the operation, construction, repair, replacement and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and collection system that meets or exceed regulatory requirements and adopted operating standards of a Class IV Plant.
Qualification Requirements: Education, Training and Experience: High School diploma and more than 5 years of wastewater treatment plant experience including 1 year of wastewater supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, work experience and training. Must have and maintain: Valid CT Drivers License. Connecticut DEP Wastewater Treatment Class III Operator in training Certificate that must be completed within a year of date of hire, or a higher certificate class
Selection Process: 100% Training and Experience Assessment. The Town of Branford reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be considered for the position.
All candidates not employed by the Town of Branford prior to employment, must successfully pass a post-offer medical examination, which includes substance abuse testing, given at the Town's expense.
The Town of Branford has implemented a policy of comprehensive background investigations for management/professional positions to be completed prior to hiring as part of the reference checking procedures for candidates not already employed by the Town. The investigation will be conducted as the last step prior to an offer. Refusal to sign the release form will eliminate the candidate from further consideration.
