The Branford Rotary Club continued its Student of the Month (SOM) program at Branford High School (BHS) by recognizing high-achieving juniors and seniors who have made distinctive academic contributions.
Timothy Crowle was nominated for recognition in February by the Social Studies/Economics department and by his teacher Robert Polemeni. Tim is a senior and Honor Roll student at Branford High School. He has also demonstrated leadership qualities by his work with Big Brothers & Big Sisters and mentoring the incoming freshman at the high school. Volunteering his time with the Columbus House and theCommunity Dining Room, Tim enjoys ‘doing anything to get people to smile’. He is president of the Italian Club and was on the Football & Track teams at school. Tim is planning on furthering his education in college next year pursuing a degree in business and he has been accepted at SCSU, Merrimack College & Queens College in NC.
The Branford Rotary Club is in its 83rd year of existence, having been charted on October 15, 1928. The Rotary Club of Branford is an organization of women and men representing a cross-section of local business and professional leaders, living and /or employed in Branford, who work as volunteers on a variety of local and international projects to improve the quality of life in their home and world communities. The Branford Rotary Club meets weekly on Mondays from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. at the Italian American Social Club, 40 Hamre Lane. Guest of members are welcome to attend luncheons, and membership inquiries are encouraged.
