$15.00

Fresh off an exhilarating production of The Phantom of the Opera, Music Director Cathyann Roding will lead the Branford High School Chorus to a performance at Woolsey Hall(500 College St.) in New Haven on May 1 at 2 p.m. for the benefit of the Branford Counseling Center.

The project called, “Roll Over Beethoven” will be a two part concert, with the chorus, 150 strong, and a full orchestra performing Beethoven’s Mass in C, followed by a number of Rock and Roll favorites from the past including, “Hotel California” made famous by the Eagles, “Dream On,” ” Heart Breaker,” and of course Chuck Berry’s “Roll Over Beethoven.”

The net proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Branford Counseling Center Basic Needs Program, to provide assistance with food, rent, utilities, heat and prescriptions to needy town residents.

“I’m always looking for projects that will challenge my students to combine all of the elements of music, as well as give them an opportunity to share their ideas and messages with as large and diverse a population as possible, hoping to make a difference in this world,” Roding said.

In addition to ticket sales, the concert will be recorded and CDs will be available for sale. Tickets cost $15 each and CDs are $20. Checks for both can be made payable to Roll Over Beethoven and sent to Cathyann Roding, 185 East Main St. Branford, Ct. 06405.

The Branford Community Foundation is the Presenting Sponsor for the concert. Other sponsorship opportunities are also available. Call Bill O’Brien at 203-988-0241 to discuss the other programs that include tickets, copies of CDs, event recognition and possibly even your own private concert with the chorus members.
