Creating the Perfect "Family" Room
DesignWish unveiled their home makeover to a happy mom and her four sons.
The ladies of DesignWish did it again! For the fourth year in a row, a deserving family has been treated to a home makeover, which is planned in just a handful of weeks by the all-volunteer design team DesignWish and executed in just 24 hours.
Deb Roberts of Stony Creek, Branford and her four sons arrived home Thursday evening to find two rooms in their home completely re-done. The Roberts were chosen from many worthy applicants because of their unique story. The family lost their father – Deb's husband, Stephen Roberts – to cancer and the makeover was intended to be a renewal of sorts for the family. Much was changed with many donors from the shoreline making the seemingly impossible, possible.

What an inspirational article, about local people doing great things for other people. The Design Team is a great group (I know a few of the women), and the Roberts family looked so pleased! Thanks, Nicole, for sharing the local uplifting story.

The Design Wish team is an absolutely amazing team of women, talented, creative and thoughtful interior designers... They took time to get to know our family - they really listened and were incredibly sensitive, especially during this very difficult time in our lives. "Thank You" will never be enough.

In addition, the Design Wish team www.designwish.org pulled together an army of volunteers that included contractors, merchants and people who simply wanted to help - as well as donate. I hope that their generosity is recognized and comes full circle.

The pleasure was all mine. It was so lovely meeting your family and your sons are so wonderful. You are a lucky woman to have such a great bunch. The ladies of DesignWish are without a doubt, some of the best women I've met – they get things done and have fun along the way. Again, thanks for allowing me to be part of a wonderful experience.
